The definition of a trend is "to tend to take a particular direction, be currently popular," according to the dictionary website. The culture today wants to be "trendy" and in the know with what influencers, celebrities, or people around them are wearing and doing. Some of the current fashion trends today are Y2K styles, bright colors, minimalistic looks, oversized clothing, cowgirl hats, and midi/maxi styles. Trends in hot places such as Los Angelos or New York have different styles than ones what the southern states would call fashion.
